Last summer I reacted to some bizarre health posts I’d found on Facebook. I logged back in to see if I could fact-check any more posts that seemed to be spreading like wildfire. Well wouldn’t you know it didn’t take me long to find some dangerously misleading or downright ridiculous health “tips”. I had to fact check things like using onions to cure the cold, baking soda to remove grease from your hair, drinking cow’s urine to fight COVID-19, putting cabbage in your bra to battle mastitis, using toothpaste as a skin cream, and the proper way to hold your phone, drive, and wear your backpack to school.

as someone that uses crystals in healing i can confirm it probably wont help a sore knee or stiffness. Crystals help in spiritual healing and can help get rid of some stress and anxiety (not the disorder dont substitute a crystal for professional help. Crystals are there to help with the proffesional help.) An example hematite has a soothing effect and rose quartz can help with self love. I know some can help get rid of small headaches. Important part cleanse and charge your crystals reguarly. In summary crystals can give you a confidence boost but wont make your depression go away. I recomend doing research on the magical properties of the crystal you want. I hope that makes sense

8:20 using shampoo CAN actually make your hair greasier, right? If the soap in it is too strong, your body will start making more to not have the skin dry out all the time. Which means your hair will get greasy quicker. The solution, of course, is NOT to use baking soda, but a milder shampoo

That cabbage thing, although horribly misrepresented by that post, is actually a very common treatment for painful engorgement! No, it does not heal a mastitis infection, you need antibiotics and warm compresses for that. But the painful swelling during weaning or when your milk first comes in can be soothed using cold cabbage leaves.

OKOK The ones I agree with on this are remedies that do actually work like the mint toothpaste exfoliating your skin or drying it up enough to not be clogged, AND putting soda in your hair with the shampoo in a little bit of a mixture actually being able to completely clean extremely greasy hair when I used to live in fast food and you just could not decrease with the cheap shampoo that I had at my mom's. But to be 100% fair we were also ungodly poor and I only went to the doctor once up until my adult life so these were probably Band-Aid solutions to gaping wounds LOL

Honestly I have no problems with people believing in crystals and the kind of "witchy" stuff that gained popularity again, but please realize that these things work more on a mental level, for example boosting confidence and other things. Please do not use such things to heal or cure real injuries or illnesses. The same goes for natural medicine, chamomile tea helps soothing your throat if you have an infection there and it helps your body healing that new tongue piercing. However there are injuries and illnesses that can only be treated by going to a doctor and getting prescribed medication or getting an operation. Please always use common sense with these kind of treatments.
